Packaging Compliance
The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste Regulations) 2007 set objectives for the British industry in relation to the recovery and recycling of packaging waste.
The Regulations require companies, which supply or import more than 50 tonnes of packaging a year and with a turnover above £ 2 million, to register and fulfil an obligation to recover or recycle a specific amount of packaging.
A business must calculate the weight and type of packaging they supplied in the previous year. Using this data they can determine how many tonnes of PRNs of different material types they are required to purchase.
Preston Plastics provides support and advice to its customers and works with them so that this legal responsibility can be met as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.
Packaging Recovery Notes
Under the current legislation, a business must calculate the weight and type of packaging they supplied in the previous year. By using these figures, they can then determine how many tonnes of Packaging Recovery Note certificates (PRNs) of different material types they are required to purchase.
As an accredited reprocessor, Preston Plastics are proud to be able to issue PRN certificates to help businesses to meet their obligations in this regard. For further information how we can help you, please contact us.
